A dispenser for adhesive tape 38, Fig. 2, has a hollow casing 11 with an aperture 6 on the under surface through which the tape passes over an initial applying surface 5<SP>1</SP> on a wall section 5 to a resilient presser roller 8. A resiliently mounted cutter blade 34 is actuated by a reciprocable plunger 30 for severing the tape when the casing is tilted upwardly on the roller 8.
