Abstract
1285306 Opening eggs; egg cups C A BECKER 23 Dec 1970 [1 Jan 1970 11 Nov 1970j 83/70 and 53645/70 Headings A4A and A4R A holder for a cooked egg comprises a first tubular part 15 or 15a providing a support for an egg and a second tubular part 11 or 11a slidably fitted over the first part 15 or 15a, the second part 11 or 11a having at its upper end an inwardly directed flange 12 or 12a defining a circular hole with a diameter less than the maximum diameter of the egg, the flange 12 or 12a providing a guide for a knife or other cutter for cutting off the top of the egg. In one embodiment, Fig.2, the first part 15 has a flange 16 to support the egg and a wire or thread 17 providing the cutter is secured to a peg 18 on the guide flange 12. In another embodiment, Fig.3, the first part 15 includes a depression 20 to receive the egg and a saucer like flange 21. A knife blade 22 is slidable in a groove in the flange 12a. The hole in the flange 12 or 12a may be notched, Fig.4 (not shown). The second part (11b), Fig.5 (not shown) may have cut-outs (24) from its lower edge.
