1399492 Liquid receptacle assemblies SHISEIDO CO Ltd 7 June 1972 [8 June 1971 (2) 14 Jan 1972] 26503/72 Heading B8T A receptacle 1a has a rotatable cap 2 which is displaced upwards when rotated from its closed position to establish liquid communication between the aperture 3a of the cap 2 and the aperture 8e in a closure plug 8 fitted in the container neck 6, means being provided to hold the cap in resilient engagement with the body 1 to maintain the relative position of the cap and neck in the closed and open positions of the cap 2. In Figs. 1-7, the deformable receptacle 1a is of elliptical cross-section and has a neck 6 of circular cross-section, and the cap 2 has a side wall 2a whose lower edge is elliptical and a circular top wall 3c. Rotation of the cap 2 produces a camming of the lower edge of the side wall 2a out of engagement with the shoulder 7a and up the surface 7. The cap 2 has two depending part-cylindrical flexible members 5 provided with ribs 5a which co-operate with a locating rib 6b and a cap retaining flange 6a on the neck 6 of the receptacle. Upward displacement of the cap 2 forces the lower rib 5a past the rib 6b by flexing of the members 5. The closure plug 8 is held by a rib 8c engaging a groove 6c in the neck 6. The inner cylinder 8b is engaged by a cylinder 4 depending from the cap wall 3c, and is provided with the liquid outlet 8e and a projection 8f which is engageable in hole 3b to close the exit hole 3a. In a similar embodiment, Figs. 9A and 9B (not shown), the receptacle has a hexagonal cross-section, and the upward displacement of the cap is also obtained by replacing the circular ribs 5a and 6b with spiral ribs which remain engaged (the flexible members 5 being replaced by a cylinder). The inner cylinder 8b of the closure plug 8 is formed with a circular rib engaging a groove in the depending cylinder 4. A pair of outlets 8e is provided in the plug 8, and the projection 8f closes the hole 3b when the shoulder of the plug 8 engages the top wall 3c. In Fig. 8 (not shown), the embodiment of Figs. 1-7 is modified. The depending cylinder is omitted and the closure plug 8 is replaced by a single cylinder having a central liquid outlet which is closed by a further plug carried by the cap on spiders in the exit hole 3a. In Figs. 10 and 11 (not shown), the embodiment of Figs. 1-7 is modified. The shoulder 7 of the receptacle is horizontal and provided with inclined cam surfaces which co-operate with vertical elements depending from the cap top wall 3c, in order to effect the vertical displacement of the cap 2.
