Abstract

1398998 Patterns and core boxes DEERE & CO 26 Sept 1972 [4 Oct 1971 (2)] 44495/72 Heading B3F The surfaces of a pattern or core box which are subject to wear have an electroless nickel coating formed thereon. The pattern or core box is made of aluminium or a combination of iron and aluminium and may be subjected to a zincate treatment prior to the nickel coating process. Prior to this it may be cleaned, the cleaning including the steps of vapour degreasing, soak cleaning and immersion in an acid bath. The pattern may consist of a plurality of individual aluminium patterns mounted on a cast iron base.
