Abstract

Method of forming a chemical conversion coating on the surface of a metal, characterized in that the surface is sprayed, from a hole on a wall held by hand, with: a) a cleaning solution appropriate for the surface under treatment a pressure within the range of 2.1 Mw/m2 to 4.2 in MNw/m2 and at a temperature within the range of from about 21ºC to about 66ºC; b) a suitable chemical coating forming solution for the surface being treated at a pressure within the range of about 140 KNw/m2 to about 560 KNw/m2 and at a temperature within the range of about 43ºC to about 66ºC; and subsequently with C) a passivating post-rinse solution.
