Abstract
1398388 Cathode-ray tubes PLESSEY CO Ltd 11 Jan 1973 [13 Jan 1972] 1618/72 Heading H1D A coil for fitting over the neck of a cathoderay tube-as shown, a pair of deflection coils-is formed by conductors 3 and 4 attached to-e.g. printed on-two separate portions of insulating substrate 2 and 1, of which 2 is either preformed into, or is flexible and wrapped into, a cylindrical shape, with axially extending conductors 3 being connected by circumferentially extending portions 7 at one end, and at the other end being welded, riveted, or connected by conductive tape, to the conductors 4 on the annular substrate 1, into the aperture of which the cylindrical substrate fits. Two such pairs of deflection coils, for horizontal and vertical deflection, may be arranged with their cylinders one inside the other, and slid over the neck of the cathode-ray tube, with a magnetic ring core surrounding the cylinders. Polyester and epoxy glass substrate material is referred to.
