Abstract
1398283 Cleaning ship's holds DASIC EQUIPMENT Ltd 12 March 1973 [13 March 1972] 11659/72 Addition to 1357521 Heading A4F A ship's hold is provided with washing means therefore comprising a washing liquid supply pipe 3 carrying a washing machine 8 at one end and mounted on a pivot 4 adjacent its other end so as to be movable between the operative position A and a stowed position B immediately beneath the hatch cover, means being provided below the pivot 4 for clamping the pipe 3 in its operative position, and means being provided at or adjacent the clamping means for supplying washing liquid to the pipe 3. The upper end 3a of the pipe 3 has a projection 9 engaged in the operative position in a hole in a coaming plate 10 and held by a toggle nut a screwthread on the projection 9 receiving a coupling for a liquid supply hose. The pipe 3 has a further projection 32 coupled by a cable 41 to a winch for raising the pipe 3 to its stowed position B, where it is held by rotating a handwheel 44 to screwthread a shaft into the end cap 33 of the projection 32. In further embodiments, Figs. 9 to 14 (not shown) the liquid supply pipe has a different pivotal support and is clamped in its stowed position by the engagement of a rod (143) and a bolt (143b in a lug (133) on a projection (132) on the liquid supply pipe ((103).
