Abstract

1397936 Tobacco-smoke filters T MARMAROCOPOS 28 June 1972 [29 June 1971 11 Sept 1971 27 Nov 1971] 30351/72 Heading A2C A tar condensing insert for a cigarette or cigar comprises a funnel shaped smoke inlet 21 to a passage 23 that accelerates the smoke stream and directs it against a flat and imperforate tar depositing surface 26 of a baffle 25 forming an end wall of a chamber 24, one or more outlets 27 being provided in the chamber 25 immediately adjacent the surface 26. Preferably the insert is located in a cigarette 30 between two portions of filter material 34, 35. A number of other insert constructions are disclosed having different baffle and outlet shapes.
