Abstract

1397404 Light-splitting prism EMI Ltd 8 June 1972 [19 June 1971] 28860/71 Heading G2J Two images are produced by splitting light 5 incident on a glass prism 2 by a semi-reflective surface 8 at approximately 30 degrees to the incident beam and again reflecting the reflected light by a fully reflective surface 9 to give an image at 7. The other image appears at 6. In Fig.2 (not shown) the second image is splayed outward from that shown in Fig.1 and thus, when used with television pick-up tubes, room is provided for the magnetic scanning coils. The invention may be used in multiple-tube colour T.V. cameras.
