Abstract

1396441 Weighing balance SALTER HOUSEWARES Ltd 23 Jan 1973 [23 Jan 1972] 3356/73 Addition to 1267375 Heading G1W A weighing balance comprises a weighing device 15 within a housing 10 and a weighing container 12 which sits on the weighing platform 11 during weighing but which can be inverted to act as a cover for the balance, the container when inverted resting with its rim 45 supported on a shelf 20, and being restricted against lateral movement by the platform 11. The balance with container inverted may be lifted by means of hand-holds 49 and the rim 45 Fig.3 (not shown). Several containers 12 may be provided, each having the same weight and each having a rubber ring 47 on its base. The containers may be used as mixing bowls, and have a spout 46 and volumetric graduations. The device 15 may include a parallel leaf-spring mechanism driving a pointer 17 over a scale mounted on a rotatable scale carrier 29.
