Abstract

1396142 Fabrics A B DOW 25 April 1972 [26 May 1971] 19049/72 Heading D1K [Also in Division E1] A building (Div E1) is insulated by a carpet-like member of fibres embedded (e.g. by needle punching) in a substrate adhered to its outer surface. The substrate may, e.g., be a thermoplastic, a thermosetting resin, rubber or cellophane. The fibres may be of e.g. acrylonitrile polymers, polyamide (e.g. nylon), polyesters, protein fibres, saron materials, glass fibre, cellulosic material, cotton, wool or metal. The fibres may be flat with fibrillated ends, Figure 10, or tapered and may be hollow, Figure 8, or have a pubescent outer surface Figure 12 (not shown).
