1395994 Tocopherol esters DELMAR CHEMICALS Ltd 22 Nov 1973 [23 Aug 1972] 39248/72 Heading C2V The novel d,l-α-tocopherol ester of α-(pchlorophenoxy)isobutyric acid is prepared (a) by reacting d,l-α-tocopherol with a reactive derivative of α-(p-chlorophenoxy(isobutyric acid or (b) by reacting the sodium salt of α-tocopherol with α-(p-chlorophenoxy)isobutyryl chloride. Pharmaceutical compositions having activity against coronary artery disease and artherosclerosis comprise, as active ingredient, the above ester, in admixture with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
