Abstract

1,264,197. Anti-inflammatory, hypolipemic &c. medicines. ROUSSEL UCLAF. 18 July, 1969 [11 June, 1969], No. 36382/69. Heading A5B. [Also in Division C2] Pharmaceutical compositions comprise thiazolecarboxylic acids of the formula: wherein R<SP>2</SP> is a straight chain alkyl group containing from 1 to 12 carbon atoms and/or salts and/or esters thereof, the said salts being alkali metal salts or acid addition salts with organic bases and the said esters being esters of substituted or unsubstituted alkanols, in association with pharmaceutical carriers or excipients. The compositions are in a form suitable for oral, rectal or transcutaneous administration and have hypolipemic, anti-inflammatory and sustained vasodilatory activities. In addition to the above active ingredients the compositions may contain further physiologically active ingredients, for example, peripheral vasodilators, regulators of capillary permeability or spasmolytics.
