Abstract

1394132 Liquid developers CANON K K 24 July 1972 [24 July 1971 (2) 30 July 1971 (3)] 34461/72 Heading G2H A liquid developer composition comprises an electrically insulating liquid having dispersed therein a pigment or a dye, a cyclized rubber, and a charge controlling agent which is one or more of lecithin, metal naphthanate, bitumen, chlorinated paraffin, linseed oil, and alkyd resin. The insulated liquid may be n-pentane, cyclohexane, an isoparaffin, chlorinated paraffin, naptha, kerosene or light oil and the pigment or dye carbon black, alkali blue, phthalocyanine blue or zapin first blue. Polyethylene may be added to the composition. Fig. 1 shows storage tank 1, developer 2, stirrer 3, pump 4, valve 5 and distributor 6. In use a pool 9 of developer is formed in a vessel 10 and maintained such that the surface of the drum 11 is always in contact therewith.
