Abstract

1394030 Morpholine JEFFERSON CHEMICAL CO Inc 21 Dec 1973 [18 Jan 1973] 59581/73 Heading C2C [Also in Division B1] High purity morpholine, which is free from ethylene glycol monomethyl ether is prepared by reacting 2-(2-aminoethoxylethanol with ammonia over ahydrogenation-dehydrogenation catalyst at 150-400‹ C. and a pressure of 20- 400 atm. Suitable catalysts are, for example, copper, nickel, chromium, cobalt, manganese, molybdenum, palladium, platinum, and their oxides and mixtures thereof.
