1392003 Moulding tyres KOBE MACHINERY CO Ltd 19 May 1972 23791/72 Heading B5A [Also in Division B7] Apparatus for vulcanizing tyre treads of a retreaded tyre or the whole treaded tyre includes a mould split into segments 2 which receives the tyre casing B with unvulcanized tread C adhered thereto, a heater 3 and a fan 4 located within the hermetically sealed space 8, whereby air within the space is heated and stirred to effect the vulcanization. Pressurized air is fed to the space via a channel 7 and the fan is driven by a motor 5. In the modification of Fig. 2 the tyre beads are engaged by the edges of relatively adjustable plates 9 to provide an hermetically sealed space 8 to which pressurized air is supplied via channel 7. Air at a different pressure is supplied to the space 12 via a channel 11.
