Abstract

1391899 Feeding conveyers LEE-NORSE CO 30 March 1973 [14 April 1972] 15407/73 Heading B8A [Also in Division E1] A mining machine 1 comprises a chassis 2 carrying a boom 11 which carries a rotary cutter head 14, and gathering means 7 comprising a pair of counter rotating discs 67 with vanes 71 extending at an angle to the radius of the respective discs in the direction counter to the rotation of the disc, and fences 69 under which the vanes pass and which co-operate with them to guide material mined by the cutter on to a conveyer 4 which extends along the chassis. The discs 67 are circular but elliptical discs (81), Fig. 6 (not shown) may be used instead.
