Abstract
1390908 Cooling electric conductors REYROLLE PARSONS Ltd 25 April 1972 [30 Jan 1971] 61785/70 Heading F4U [Also in Divisions H1 and H2] Heat generated locally within an electric current carrying conductor in a high-voltage switch is transferred to another locality by a device comprising a heat pipe or Perkins tube. The conductor may be mounted within the heat transfer device as shown or, if the conductor is insulated on the outside, it may have an axial bore forming the duct of the heat transfer device. The device may be connected to a sealed radiator for heat dissipation and the interior of the device may be pressurized or at subatmospheric pressure.
