Abstract

1390750 Mixing apparatus BAYER AG 17 April 1973 [20 April 1972] 18427/73 Addition to 1244300 Heading B1C The mixing apparatus described and claimed in the Specification 1244300 is modified in that the lower section of the riser tube has an outer wall at least partly of frusto-conical form which defines with a portion of the conical wall of the base a frusto-conical annular channel 8 which restricts the volume of air flowing upwardly in the vessel outside the riser tube, the pressure drop in use along the annular channel being substantially the same as that along the length of the riser pipe. In an alternative embodiment the lower tube has a cylindrical portion rising from the frusto-conical portion and the base of the vessel has conical sections of differing cone angle (Fig. 2 not shown).
