Abstract

1390734 Two-part couplings RAPID SA 15 Jan 1973 [18 Jan 1972] 2004/73 Heading H2E A connector for connecting to the surface of a printed circuit board comprises a U-shape resilient strip in which the bight 2 has at least one extension 3 laterally of the legs 4 of the U with a claw 5 inclined to the plane of the extension, the legs having portions which diverge 10 and then converge 12 in the direction away from the bight. The connector shown has two extensions 3 each with two claws 5 which are bent out of the plane of the bight towards the mouth of the U. The free ends of the convergent portions 12 are directed outwardly to form an entry guide for a contact pin (13). In use the legs 4 are inserted through a rectangular aperture (a) in a board, the extensions 5 contacting one conductive side of the board and the divergent portions of the legs resting against the other side of the board around the chamfered edge (11) of the aperture with the free ends of the legs projecting beyond the other side for receiving the contact pin (13).
