Abstract

1,091,642. Two-part couplings; terminals. THOMAS & BETTS CO. Oct. 19, 1965 [Oct. 20, 1964], No. 44275/65. Heading H2E. An electrical connector incorporates a pair of terminal members 40 (Fig. 8), placed face-toface in a housing 10 so as to be positioned to receive a contact between bifurcated springy portions 58 of the terminal members, the contact fitting in a slot 18 in the housing. The portion 54, 56, 46, 48 of the terminal member has a T-section. Easy insertion of the terminal member into the housing is ensured by means of grooves 20 and ramps 24, and the terminal member is locked into the housing by means of ramp-shaped detents 28. The housing may be adapted to accept any number of such terminals (Fig. 6 or 7, not shown), and also has mounting means 14, 16 (Fig. 1, not shown), for connecting the housing to another connector or to a terminal board.
