Abstract

1390327 Electro-depositing gold alloys SOC CONTINENTALE PARKER 19 April 1973 [25 April 1972] 19106/73 Heading C7B Au alloyed with Ag, Pd, Cd, In, Sn, Sb or Zn is electro-deposited from an aqueous solution comprising gold-alkali metal cyanide e.g. 0À2-35 g/l Au, an alkali metal cyanide e.g. 5-150 g/l free CN, and an alloying metal (M) - dithio or diselenio carbamate complex of Formula:- (R 1 R 2 N-CX-X) n M, in which R 1 and R 2 are alkyl, aralkyl or aryl (e.g. dimethyl, diethyl or dibutyl), X is S or Se and n is the co-ordination number, e.g. 10 mg - 6 g/l M. The pH is 8-13. The solution may also contain up to 150 g/l alkali metal phosphate, nitrate, oxalate, borate or acetate; and Ni-KCN as brightener. The C.D. may be 0À1-0À7 A/dm<SP>2</SP>.
