Abstract

1389951 Containers for fluent materials ASHTON CONTAINERS Ltd 7 Dec 1973 [21 Dec 1972] 59226/72 Heading B8P A six or eight sided container having a semistiff bag 25 therein has additional fold lines 10a intermediate each panel and curved fold lines 13 adjacent each ends whereby the container can approximate to a cylindrical shape under the weight of the contents in the bag. A reinforcing band 30 can be provided at about one-third of the height of the container from the base. The bag has a neck 28 closed by a bung. End caps 29 are each folded from a blank (Fig. 2, not shown), and may be taped on to the filled container. The container may be of double wall corrugated fibreboard construction with a coarse or medium fluting on one side and fine fluting on the other side.
