Abstract

1388980 Seaming non-metallic sheet material BRUCKNER APPARATEBAU GmbH 17 Sept 1973 [15 Nov 1972] 43446/73 Heading B5K [Also in Division D1] In a method of preparing textile fabric webs for subsequent treatment (see Division D1), their longitudinal edges are joined together. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, three looped pile fabric webs 1, 2, 3 are fed by pin rollers 10, 11, 12 on to pin chains in preliminary feed areas 4, 5, 6 and are fed by a take-off roller 7 and an overfeed pin roller 15 to a common feed area 9 of a treatment machine 8. In the areas 5, 6, welding powder is applied by means 13, 14 to the longitudinal edges of the webs 2, 3 and, in the area 9, a heat radiator 16 and a pressure roller 17 weld the longitudinal web edges. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, fabric webs 1<SP>1</SP>, 2<SP>1</SP> are unwound from rolls 21, 22 resting on a winding roller 27 and having cores 23, 24 on tracks 25, 26. Welding powder is sprayed on to the edges of the web 1<SP>1</SP> by a device 30 and pinning rollers 28 overfeed the webs on to pin chains 29. A heat radiator 16<SP>1</SP> and a pressure roller 17<SP>1</SP> weld the longitudinal edges together.
