1388088 N - 2 - (2 - Acetyl - 4 - chlorophenoxy) - ethyl - N,N - dimethyl - N - benzylammonium p-chlorobenzene sulphonate INSTITUT MEDITSINSKOI PARAZITOLOGII I TROPICHESKOI MEDITSINY IMENI EI MARTSINOVSKOGO 16 May 1973 23316/73 Heading C2C The novel title compound (I) of formula is made by reacting 2-hydroxy-5-chloro-acetophenone with #-dimethylaminoethyl chloride or its hydrochloride in alkaline medium to form 2 - acetyl - 4 - chloro - phenoxyethyldimethylamine which is reacted with benzyl chloride to form the corresponding quaternary salt which is then reacted with an aqueous solution of a salt of p-chlorobenzene sulphonic acid. Pharmaceutical preparations suitable for treating trichocephalosis contain (I) as active ingredient; administration is in the form of, e.g. tablets or capsules.
