Abstract

1387967 Fastener driving tools DIETER HAUBOLD INDUSTRIELLE NAGELGERATE 17 Sept 1973 [26 Sept 1972] 43462/73 Heading B4C In a fastener driving tool in which the driving plunger 4 is driven by pneumatic pressure upon the opening of a release valve 11 means 16, 22 are provided for preventing delivery of a sufficient pneumatic pressure to operate the plunger when the release valve is opened and the magazine 10 is empty. Under normal conditions the valve 16 is upright to prevent escape of compressed air when the trigger 6 is pulled to deliver air from the reservoir 2 through the release valve 11 and channel 12 to lift a control valve 7 which in turn causes the intake valve on the cylinder 5 to open. When the magazine is empty a projection 22 on the magazine slide block 21 tilts the valve 16 so that when the trigger 6 is pulled the compressed air passes through a channel 12a to atmosphere instead of operating the control valve 7. An acoustic warning signal may be given off by the air escaping through the valve 16.
