Abstract

1387509 Pipe couplings G CICCOLALLO and G SIMONI 2 July 1973 [31 July 1972] 31537/73 Heading F2G In order to secure pipes 1 and 2 in sleeve 3, tool 16 may be screwed down so that its end penetrates the pipe wall and, after withdrawal, a pin screw 11 can be fitted in the bored hole. A single pipe may be held by one or more screws. When a plastics sleeve 3 is used to connect plastics pipes, collars (10, Fig. 2, not shown) and screws 11 may be of metal. Such metal screws may have sharpened points to make their own holes in the pipes, thus obviating the use of a tool 16. Punched up tabs 15 secure ring 8 which retains sealing ring 6. An additional seal 13 is provided beneath the head of screw 11. Elbow bends and T-junctions are disclosed.
