Abstract

1310367 Pipe joint MARTONAIR Ltd. 2 Sept 1971 [15 Sept 1970] 43895/70 Heading F2G A flexible pipe 10 is secured to a tubular end portion of a pipe, pipe connector or nozzle 11 by a collar 14 having an internal diameter less than that of the pipe 10 where it is received on the tubular end. The collar 14, which is slidable on the undeformed portion of the pipe 10, is forced over the enlarged end of the pipe to grip the pipe, e.g. of plastics, against the tubular end and to form a seal therewith. As shown the pipe 10 may be connected to a nozzle 11 having external gripping serrations and leading to a bore 12 in a wall 13 of a tank or a pipe containing pressurized fluid, for example. The collar 14 has annular end beads 15 for cooperation with a tool (see Specification 1,310,368) to facilitate engagement of the collar. The collar 14 may be removed by sliding it back along the pipe for disconnection of the joint.
