Abstract

1386669 Lighting fitting WIPAC DEVELOPMENT Ltd 2 Aug 1973 [3 July 1972] 31084/72 Heading F4R [Also in Divisions H1 and H2] A lighting fitting for use in interior or courtesy lights of cars comprises a bulb-holder 12 with contacts for engaging the terminals of a bulb 17 and a switch 16 electrically connected to one of the contacts, and a translucent or transparent plastics cover 21, the switch and bulb-holder being formed initially as a separate unit which is subsequently attached to the plastics cover 21, and wherein an operating member 22 of switch 16 extends through an aperture in the cover 21. The bulb-holder 12 includes a support 11, Fig. 3, which is secured to the cover 21 with adhesive and from which locating pins 23 and locating arms 49 project to mount the terminals 13, 14, 15, the phosphor bronze strip 19 forming one of the bulb-holder contacts, the conducting plate 25 and the insulating pads 24, 26. A rivet 27 secures the assembly together, being in electrical contact only with terminal 15 and forming the other bulbholder contact. A spring-biased conducting roller 32 connected to the switch operating member 22 displaceably interconnects the terminals 13, 14 to complete the circuit through the festoon lamp 17. A first battery terminal is connected to terminal 15 and the second battery terminal is connected directly to terminal 13 and through an external, e.g. door, switch to terminal 14.
