Abstract
1386507 Cements from slags YOSHIZAWA LIME INDUSTRIES CO Ltd 5 March 1973 [19 Oct 1972] 10627/73 Heading ClH To a slag produced in a steel refining process using a synthetic basic flux or a molten synthetic basic flux (both defined) a further flux is added, during the last stage of the process or after the slag has been removed, in such an amount that the final slag composition will be CaO 45-60; SiO 2 10-25; Al 2 O 3 1-15; Fe 2 O 3 10-20 and Mn 2 O 3 0-5. The slag is quenched, blended with less than 10% of a set regulator (gypsum) and/or an accelerator (Ca[OH] 2 ). The additional flux can be either of those defined or a dry powder made from one or more of red mud, b.f. slag, clay, alumina shale, bauxite and lime. The slag can be mixed with cements.
