Abstract
1385657 Pressure intensifiers ASSA AB 19 Feb 1973 [29 Feb 1972] 7953/72 Heading F1D In a pressure intensifier, Fig. 1 having pistons 6, 7 moving in cylinders 2, 8, the inner cylinder 8 is tiltable relative to the cylinder 2 to permit misalignment of the cylinders. The cylinder 8 is mounted by a part-spherical spigot 10 on and endwall 3 through which a duct 25 passes to an outlet 26. A part-spherical portion 16 of the cylinder bears on the inside of the cylinder 2 and is retained by a member 17. A helical spring bears on the piston 6 to urge it to the left. Alternatively the piston may be spring-urged to the right, or doubleacting. A passage 22 vents the chamber 19. Ducts 21 connect chambers 19 and 20 Fig. 2 (not shown), illustrates an embodiment in which the portion 16 of the cylinder 8 does not touch the wall 2 of the outer cylinder, spigot 10 is separate from the end-wall 3, and the passage 22 is replaced by a passage in the end-wall 3.
