Abstract

1384846 Multispindle lathes GILDEMEISTER AG 23 May 1973 [26 May 1972] 24578/73 Heading B3T An automatic multispindle lathe comprises an indexable spindle drum 9 with a plurality of rotary work holding spindles and tool cross slides 7 displaceable on guides 8 which are releasably mounted in optional peripheral and/ or radial positions with respect to the axis of the spindle drum. The guides 8 are mountable on an annular member 6 attached to the machine frame 1 and concentric with the axis of spindle drum, the annular member being provided with locating means 10 which extend radially and parallel to the drum axis and which are engaged by corresponding locating means on the base of the respective guides. The tools and slides may be preset relative to their respective guides to facilitate ease of setting up the machine and interchangeability.
