Abstract

1384634 Coated electrographic recording sheet AVERY PRODUCTS CORP 4 Feb 1972 [8 Feb 1971] 5295/72 Heading B2E [Also in Division G2] An electrographic recording sheet for pressure-sensitive labels and label stock comprises in order a layer of insulative or photoconductive material, a support, a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, and a detachable backing liner having a release coating, the liner comprising a paper base including at least 1.2 g.m<SP>-2</SP> of an electroconductive agent. In use the backing liner has a paper moisture content of from 2 to 12 wt%. The insulative material may be paper while the photoconductive material may be ZnO in resin. The support is paper, a polyolefin or a polyester. The adhesive is a copoly-styrene-butadiene optionally incorporating graphite or metal powder. The backing liner is paper coated with polymethyl siloxane, the paper being coated on one or both sides or incorporating a polyvinylbenzene quaternary ammonium salt or other conductive polymer.
