1384511 Nuts N C DAHL 31 Jan 1973 4957/73 Addition to 1240051 Heading F2H A nut comprises an upper portion 101 having an internal thread 102, a following sleeve-like cylindrical portion 103, a wrenching surface 110 and sleeve-like portion 103 is inserted in groove 104 in a lower part 107 so as to leave an external groove 14 which may contain an annular ring of incompressible flowable material 17 and the arrangement is such that the nut when subjected to a predetermined axial load deforms a a yielding section 18, Fig. 3 (not shown), and reduces the volume of the groove 14. The ring 17 may be of aluminium, copper or brass and may give a visual or an electrical signal. The two parts may be formed by forging or casting.
