Abstract

1384074 Ventilators GREENWOOD AIRVAC VENTILATION Ltd 17 Jan 1973 [18 Jan 1972] 2449/72 Heading F4V A louvred construction comprises a frame and slats 3 at least some of which include channels 9 which conceal steel reinforcing bars 4 whose ends pass through the frame and are embedded in the brickwork or masonry surrounding the construction. The channels may be rectangular, circular or triangular in cross-section and may be closed or open. Each slat may be extruded from aluminium or a plastics material and the frame is made of aluminium alloy. Alternatively, one or the other longitudinal edge of a slat may be bent in either direction to form a channel. Two frames may be disposed on either side of a mullion and common reinforcing bars passed through the slats of both frames. Channels 5, 6, on each slat 3 receive mounting rods. A guard for birds and insects may be provided, only a portion of the guard being shown. The slats may be pivotable about the reinforcing bars. A metal sleeve may be disposed around each bar 4 within the channel 9.
