Abstract
1383577 Transformer couplings THOMSONCSF 2 Oct 1972 [1 Oct 1971] 45418/72 Heading HIT An electrical coupling arrangement comprises a magnetic core arrangement in two separable parts, each part carrying a polyphase winding 15, 16 in slots and the construction being similar to that of a polyphase asynchronous dynamoelectric machine, except that a stop (5, Fig. 4, not shown) is provided to prevent relative rotation. As shown the two parts are tapered to facilitate their coupling and decoupling. The core is formed of laminations perpendicular to the axis 1, and the core and windings may be impregnated with epoxy resin. A coating of neoprene 4 may be provided to protect the arrangement, and, in such usage, a cavity (9) for biological deposits and a bellows outlet (10) for displaced water may be provided (Fig. 4, not shown). In addition to the three-phase power coupling 15, 16, a single-phase transformer coupling for light currents may be provided by toroidal windings 13, 14 associated with a ferrite core arrangement comprising a plurality of C cores 11, 12 disposed round the windings, these cores being of ferrite or Á-metal.
