Abstract
1383505 Fluid fuel burner LANDON KINGSWAY Ltd 31 July 1972 [10 Aug 1971] 37444/71 Heading F4T A fluid fuel burner comprises means defining a fuel passage 10 with outlet ports 15, 16, means defining an oil passage around the fuel passage 10 which is encircled by two sets of vanes 20, 21, one set 21 of which is movable as a whole around the fuel passage 10 relative to the set 20 to vary the air flow pattern through the air passage. The fuel passage 10 is defined between a pair of coaxial tubes 11, 12 and together with the two sets of vanes 21, 22 is mounted in a tubular shroud. The ends of the tubes 11, 12 are closed by an annular closure member 13 and a disc 14 and fuel is fed in through an inlet 17. The sets of vanes 20, 21 are mounted on rings 18 and 19 respectively, the latter being rotatable on loosening a grub screw 13 which secures the ring 19 to the tube 12. Each vane is inclined with respect to a radial plane passing through the vanes and perpendicular to the axis of the rings 18, 19, the inclination of all the vanes of the two sets 20, 21 preferably being the same. In an alternative embodiment the fuel passage is defined by a pipe mounted coaxially within a tube which carries the vanes. A tubular shroud which encloses the vanes defines the air passage.
