Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the temperature of a combustion zone and decrease nitrogen oxides, by providing an air passage around a fuel injection valve concentrically therewith and installing water injection nozzles on an identical circle centering the fuel injection value so that the nozzles surrounds flame. CONSTITUTION:An annular pipe 12 connected to a water feed pipe 19 is provided around the fuel injection valve 11 of a combustor 10 for a gas turbine. The nozzles 14 connected to the annular pipe 12 through inlet pipes 13 are installed at the ends of outlet passages of rotary blades 15 concentric with the fuel injection valve 11 so that the nozzles are located on the same circle in front of the fuel injection valve. Because water is atomized from the nozzles 14 almost perpendicularly to an air swirl caused by the rotary blades 15, the speed of the water particles in the axial direction of the combustor 10 is low. Therefore, the water particles are deflected by the air swirl to flow along it.
