1383389 Transformers SMIT NIJMEGEN ELECTROTECHNISCHE FABRIEKEN NV 2 May 1972 [3 May 1971] 20407/72 Heading H1T A diverter switch or selector switch having fixed contacts for connection to transformer tappings direct or through an off-load selector switch and having fixed contacts 2, 3, 4 (Figs. 2 and 4) and a movable main contact 5 rigidly interconnected with movable auxiliary contacts 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b with which move transition impedances 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b, the auxiliary contacts being movable in different parallel paths past the fixed contacts 2, 3, 4. The fixed contacts 2, 3, 4 may be at different positions on bars arranged perpendicularly to the paths of the movable contacts. The selector switch may be of rotary form (Fig. 5, not shown). Other arrangements described include one with the transition impedances in series, one with two interconnected main contacts, one of which moves over the same path as one of the pairs of auxiliary contacts and an asymmetrical arrangement in which auxiliary contacts are provided on one side of the main contact (in the direction of contact movement) (Fig. 9, not shown).
