Abstract

1383205 Telephone handset B P F HOWARD 30 Aug 1972 [4 June 1971] 18950/71 Heading H4J Telephone handset 1 has a groove 3 in its body to receive the connecting cord for the handset, preferably in the form of an extensible coil. As described the handset has push-buttons 16 or a conventional dial mounted in its surface, protuberances 10, 11 with slits or apertures to convey sound to or from the transmitter and receiver, and the groove 3 has a grommet assembly 8 through which the cord passes to the handset interior and a dummy socket 7 as a parking position for a plug on the free end of the cord. The groove is of almost full circular crosssection and the handset is moulded in two parts of abs which are held together by an interlock 8 and a screw 9.
