Abstract

[Also in Division H2] In a receiver which comprises an electro-acoustic transducer acoustically coupled to an earengaging element by a tube, the transducer is mounted inside one part of an electric two-part coupling. As shown, Fig. 1, a plug comprises a wall 4, through which protrude two flat pins 5, 6, and a moving coil transducer 13 mounted in a recess 12 in wall 4. Cover 15 interlocks with wall 4 and is provided with an acoustic channel 18 leading to a pipe 19 to which the flexible tube 20 of a stethoscope type earpiece (not shown) is connected. The contacts 5, 6 engage sockets in a fixed part 7 which may form the outlet for a wired broadcasting installation and part 7 may include a selection switch and a volume control. A locating pin 11 is provided on wall 4 and engages a socket on fixed part 7.
