Abstract

1382303 Automatic voltage regulation SIEMENS AG 14 March 1972 [22 March 1971] 11722/72 Heading G3X A voltage stabilizing circuit includes a transistor with its base-emitter path connected in parallel with a resistor and in series with a reference element. In the circuit shown, the reference element comprises six serially-connected diodes 1-6. An unstabilized D.C. source is connected by a terminal 9 to series resistors 7, 8 and a pre-stabilizing transistor 10 which ensures a constant current passing through the diodes 1-6 irrespective of variations in the supply voltage. A first stabilized output voltage is produced at a terminal 15, and further stabilized voltages with low output impedances may be obtained at terminals 16, 17 through emitter follower transistors 11, 13 respectively. In other embodiments, Figs. 2, 3 (not shown), the diode chain 1-6 may be replaced by two diodes and a Zener diode, or a single Zener diode. The arrangement may be constructed as an integrated circuit.
