Abstract

1381756 Windscreen wiper SWFSPEZIALFABRIK FUER AUTOZUBEHOER GUSTAV RAU GmbH 13 Nov 1972 [23 Nov 1971] 52265/72 Heading A4F [Also in Division H2] A windscreen wiper motor unit WM having a cam 10 driven by the shaft of a wiper blade to operate a parking switch 11, 12, 13 is energized when switch WS is operated connecting charge over contact 15 to contact 17 allowing current to flow from battery positive via contacts 11, 12 to motor M. The motor M is energized directly when it moves from the parking position shown and contacts 11, 13 are closed. Switching off puts a short circuit across the motor through contacts 11, 12, 15, 16 when the parking position is reached. In Fig.2 (not shown) the wiper switch (WS) is used to control two parallel motor units (WMI, WMZ). In a third embodiment, Fig.3 (not shown), the wipers are fitted to headlamps and an electric pump (P1) operating a washing system is included, the wiper switch (15', 16', 17') being operated by a relay coil (SM) energized by a foot switch (FKS) which also switches on the electric pump (P2) of a windscreen washing system, the headlamp system only operating when light switch (L.S) is on.
