Abstract

1381406 Grid floors R P MILES and A E SZUCS 3 July 1972 30985/72 Heading E1K [Also in Division B8] In a ramp or bridge deck wherein cross beams 20 carry grating panels 16-22 each grating panel has a plurality of anchor plates 21 secured - e.g. welded - between the grating bars 16 and is held down by blind rivets 30 passed from above through holes drilled in the plates and beams. Fig. 7 illustrates one form of "pull-up" blind rivet. The grating bars 16 may have serrated or smooth top edges and have cross-braces 22. As shown the beams 20 are secured to side members 12, 24 of a wheeled ramp, Fig. 1 (not shown) having a kerb 14, vertical stiffeners 26, and solid non-slip end deck plates (13, 13a).
