Abstract

1380927 Web transport RCA CORPORATION 30 March 1972 [5 April 1971 8684/71 Heading G5R A web 22 such as a magnetic tape is pressed against the high friction surface coating layer 28 of a capstan 26 by a low friction deformable sheet 44 supported between projections 34, 36 of a member 32 pivotally mounted on rod 46 biased by spring 48 against the capstan, a rubber like body 40 providing additional support. A cassette recorder (Fig. 4, not shown), includes two such capstan systems.
