737,061. Sound-film or tape apparatus. RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA. Oct. 1, 1953 [Oct. 29, 1952], No. 26947/53. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (2). [Also in Group XVI] , In a sound and picture film apparatus, a tapered pressure roller presses the film against a drum so that an unequal pressure is applied over the width of the film to cause it to be urged laterally in one direction and prevent laterally wandering. The largest diameter part of the pressure roller is applied at edge of the film where the sound record, which may be magnetic, is located, thus reducing the tendency of the picture part of the film to be scratched or damaged by contact with the pressure roller. Furthermore, the greater pressure at the sound record edge of the film insures good contact of the film with a magnetic sound head.
