Abstract

1,113,201. Guiding record tapes. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. 28 June, 1965 [15 July, 1964], No. 27242/65. Heading G5R. A magnetic recording tape is centred by running over two rollers 3, 4 whose axes are slightly inclined. A straight roller may be interposed between the inclined rollers (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). In order that the tape may be reversed, two sets of guide rollers oppositely inclined may be mounted on opposite ends of an arm pivoted at its centre and arranged so that the set of rollers appropriate to the direction of the tape is brought into use, Fig. 6 (not shown), or the inclination of the axes may be variable, Fig. 7 (not shown). In another embodiment, Fig. 8, the rollers are replaced by two balls 21, 22 mounted in square frames whose outer surfaces 23, 24 have a higher coefficient of friction than the inner surfaces 25, 26.
