Abstract
1380289 Setting electric clocks SEIKO KOKI KK 16 Nov 1972 [19 Nov 1971] 52975/72 Heading G3T In a timepiece driven by an electric motor and having a plurality of time indicators e.g. digit wheels, in order to permit accurate setting of the indicator of the smallest time units e.g. a seconds wheel, there is provided a manually operable means for preventing further advance of said time indicator after it has reached a predetermined position, e.g. zero seconds, and means for interrupting the drive to the indicator at this time. As shown, seconds wheel 1 is attached to a gear 2 which is normally driven by a pinion 4 and carries a projection 7. A lever 8 is pivoted at 10 and normally biased by a spring 12 against a stop 11 but may be manually rotated so that a catch 9 thereon enters the path of projection 7 to stop the wheel I at zero seconds indication. The synchronous driving motor can continue to rotate as shaft 5 of the pinion 4 can slip in slot 6 against a bias spring (not shown). The drive to the wheel 1 may alternatively be interrupted by a friction clutch which is mechanically or electrically controlled by the displacement of the shaft 5, or the displacement may open a switch in the motor circuit. Such a switch may also be controlled by the catch 9 Fig. 3 (not shown).
