Abstract

1380274 Amino acid derivatives JOHN WYETH & BRO Ltd 28 Sept 1972 [1 Oct 1971 14 Dec 1971] 45766/71 and 57931/71 Heading C2C [Also in Division A5] The invention comprises amino acid derivatives or acid addition salts thereof. wherein (a) R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are H or dialkylaminoalkyl, and one of R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>6</SP> is an alkoxycarbonyl group and the other is an alkoxycarbonyl or aralkoxycarbonyl group; (b) R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are as defined above, and at least one of R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>6</SP> is an aralkoxycarbonyl group in which the aryl portion is substituted by halogen and the other of the groups R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>6</SP> is as defined in (c) below; and (c) one of R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> is a dialkylaminoalkyl group, R<SP>3</SP> is alkoxycarbonyl or aralkoxycarbonyl, which may be substituted by halogen, and R<SP>6</SP> is H, alkoxycarbonyl or aralkoxycarbonyl, which may be substituted by halogen; and their preparation. The compounds are prepared by reacting esters or mixed anhydrides of the formula with compounds of the formula HNR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>. The following compounds are also prepared: N<SP>α</SP>,N<SP>#</SP> - bis - (benzyloxycarbonyl) - L - lysinamide, N<SP>α</SP>,N<SP>#</SP> - bis - (benzyloxycarbonyl - L- lysine, and its methyl ester, N<SP>α</SP>-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-lysine, N<SP>#</SP>-benzyl-oxycarbonyl-L- lysine, N<SP>α</SP>,N<SP>#</SP> - bis - (benzyloxycarbonyl) - D,L- lysinamide, N<SP>α</SP>,N<SP>#</SP> - bis - (benzyloxycarbonyl)- D,L-lysine, N<SP>α</SP>-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-histidinamide, N<SP>α</SP>N<SP>Jm</SP> - bis - (benzyloxycarbonyl) - L- histidine and its methyl ester. N<SP>#</SP>-benzylidene- L-lysine, N<SP>α</SP>-t.butoxycarbonyl, N<SP>#</SP>-benzyloxy carbonyl-L-lysine.
