Abstract

1380179 Trifluoromethylthio - anilinonicotinates SYNTHELABO 28 Sept 1972 [30 Sept 1971] 44877/72 Heading C2C A novel compound of the Formula (I) and acid addition salts thereof with pharmaceutically acceptable acids may be obtained by reacting isopropylidene-2,3-dihydroxypropyl 2<SP>1</SP>- chloronicotinate with m-trifluoromethylthioaniline, preferably in aqueous acidic medium under a stream of nitrogen at the reflux temperature of the reaction medium, and optionally converting the free base into acid addition salts. Pharmacuetical compositions having antiinflammatory and anti-pyretic properties comprise compounds (I) in association with a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient, especially in forms suitable for oral or rectal administration.
